Hoosier Riverwatch Workshop
Hoosier Riverwatch
June 17 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Become a citizen scientist! During this free, day-long workshop, you’ll learn how to gather important water quality data that tells us about the health of local lakes and streams. After the workshop, you’ll be certified to conduct your own water monitoring and submit data to a state-wide database.
Hoosier Riverwatch is a program of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Office of Water Quality, Watershed Assessment, and Planning Branch. The program began in 1996 to increase public awareness of water quality issues and concerns by training volunteers to monitor stream water quality.
Led by Lyn Crighton (The Watershed Foundation) and Amanda Heltzel (Kosciusko Soil and Water Conservation District), this free training is great for teachers, natural resource professionals, and anyone interested in being a steward for our waterways! No experience necessary. Session will be held indoors and outdoors, weather permitting.
