TWF collaborated with the Kosciusko and Whitley County SWCDs and the Conservation Cropping System Initiative (CCSI) to provide a workshop for local farmers on February 7, 2019. Four speakers presented information on building Soil Health Systems for Agricultural Resistance to Climate Change to an audience of 43 participants.
This soil health demonstration shows how tilling farm fields may be weakening our soil and contributing to erosion.
This same demo was performed by Stephanie McLain and Tony Bailey from NRCS during our February 2019 event.
This video was produced by Stephen J. Beard and Jenna Watson, Indianapolis Star
Both healthy soils and clean water are important to our community! TWF has 2 experienced conservationists available to visit properties and meet with landowners to look at any resource concerns or problems – and then help develop and implement solutions. If you are located in the Upper Tippecanoe River Watershed (see Map) and would like free technical assistance, please contact us. These visits are informal and will results in no commitment from the landowner unless you wish to enter into an agreement for cost-share assistance with TWF.
