Beginning at Lake Tippecanoe, the Tippecanoe River and its tributaries flow through the center of Kosciusko County. This entire watershed area drains to the Tippecanoe River, encompasses 20-25% of the county, and includes four major lakes: Pike, Center, Winona and Chapman, plus many smaller lakes.
The Clean Waters Partnership was created to develop a watershed management plan (WMP) for this area. In the process of building a WMP, we will gather and examine all the available watershed data, get input from the community, itemize the critical problem areas in the watershed, set goals and create an action strategy to get the improvements completed. A highly competitive, $200,000 grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management will fund this stage of the project. (Learn More)
