Last summer a few ladies had an idea – let’s have a dance and celebrate our wonderful lakes! The idea was planted to host a party benefiting our lakes at the historic Tippy Ballroom. We weren’t sure if anyone would come. We thought they might want to relive the dancing days, but we didn’t know. As we talked about this dance to our friends and neighbors our excitement began to grow! We dove head first into planning an event that has a history that goes back decades.
The Watershed Foundation hosted a Dance Through the Decades on Saturday, July 27, 2019. 250 water loving, dancers took to the floor and showed off their dancing skills to the tunes of the 50s, 60s, 70s, & 80s! The dance floor was hopping all night long thanks to our DJ Big Kat and live band Leisure Machine from Detroit! We hosted a hula hoop contest and costume contest – our guests did not disappoint! All the hep cats, groovy ladies and sharp dressed fellas came out on Saturday! Thank you to our Main Event Sponsors: Main Channel Marina, Coldwell Banker – Deb Paton Showley Group, Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association, Barbee Lakes Property Owners Association and Brian Peterson Real Estate Group. Other groovy contributors include: Patona Bay, Chubbies, Signarama, Beyond Landscaping, Warsaw Party Rental, Bart’s Watersports & Ace Hardware. We couldn’t have put this night together with each of you.
