Thursday, June 16, 2022

On June 3, nearly 100 of The Watershed Foundation’s major sustaining donors attended an event at Tippy Creek Winery in  Leesburg to celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary.

Staying true to TWF’s mission of taking action to improve and protect the water quality of local lakes and streams, this milestone year is an important one for the local non-profit organization.

TWF board president Andrew Grossnickle welcomed guests and Jeff Thornburgh, a founding board member, talked about the organization’s history. Lyn Crighton, executive director, talked about the future of TWF. Patrick Tynan, a TWF Legacy Club member and Aggie Sweeney, a TWF board member, shared information about planned giving.

Joe Tynan, an emeritus board member, helped recognize TWF’s top 25 donors and each received a small art glass dish commemorating the non-profit’s anniversary.

Executive Director Lyn Crighton stated, “We are successful. We know what works. We all want clean and healthy lakes for today and the future, and working together we can make that happen.”

The organization will continue to celebrate their 25th Anniversary in a variety of ways through the end of the year.
