Clear Choices Pledge of the Month – Volunteer Service!

Winter Weather is HERE! All the snow affords us numerous opportunities to serve and here are a few of our favorites.

• If you have a sidewalk in front of your house or office building, keep it clear of snow.

• If you live next to an elderly person, help them out by shoveling their driveway or sidewalk., or offer to run some simple errands for them.

• Trash and debris can still accumulate around storm drains in the winter. Continue to keep them clean so water can drain well once the snow melts.

• Try and use eco-friendly alternatives to salt on sidewalks. Kitty litter, sand, and used coffee grounds don’t melt ice or snow, but can provide good traction. As much as you might dread it, nothing is better than shoveling to keep sidewalks clear.
