I am reaching out to check on you during this tumultuous time. I hope you are taking care of yourself, have what you need, and are able to assist those around you. I’m encouraging my friends, family, and staff to find solace and comfort in nature – there is nothing quite like the sound of water, the warmth of the afternoon sun, or the wonder of new growth to soothe and rejuvenate. We need this comfort now more than ever and summer is definitely coming!
As one of our supporters, you are part of our community that loves our local lakes. I am confident that this community will weather the storm of COVID-19 and I am heartened by the bright spots emerging in this time of crisis: Stories of people across our communities who are helping others in this time of need; farmers preparing for planting season; and the extraordinary resilience of our staff and team in the face of constant change.
I’m also uplifted by individuals, like you, who continue to support TWF and the conservation work being done throughout our watershed. You have our commitment that we are continuing to fix pollution problems at their source – before they reach our precious lakes and rivers.
Now more than ever, I’m grateful to be part of an organization designed to improve the health and well being of our community. Thank you for your ongoing support, and best wishes to you and your family.
With gratitude and hope,
Lyn Crighton
Tempering the hope expressed above is my concern about the financial impact this crisis may have on small non-profits like TWF. I worry about our ability to support landowners and our conservation partners. I worry about taking care of our team. And of course I also worry about you. I am sure this is a challenging time for you too, and you may have similar concerns. If you are able, and feel compelled to provide support for local leaders working tirelessly for water quality in your favorite lakes, here’s how you can help:
